Laura Dent

Role: Higher Level teaching Assistant (HLTA,) Wellbeing.

I joined Marlborough Primary School in 2010 as a parent volunteer, having left a 10-year career as a Visual Merchandiser following the birth of my second child. Since then, I have worked as a midday supervisor, a 1:1 working with children with ASD and ADHD, spent a year in our Specialist Resource Base, worked in Intervention to support children to attain literacy and numeracy skills and in my current role of six years, I work as a Trauma Informed Practitioner to support children with mental ill health, trauma and social and emotional development. My passion is to ensure that every child has an advocate; facilitating meaningful connections, self-worth and belonging.

Outside of work, I live with my husband, our two teenage children and our dog, Maisy (who makes regular appearances at school). I love to read, both for work and pleasure and I am happiest outside, particularly at the beach.
